Poseidon Thermal Park

The Poseidon Gardens is the largest spa park on the island: 6 hectares of terraces, 20 pools, 8000 square meters of beach, 3 dining outlets and a spa. The thermal waters – considered curative – feed all the pools in the park, which are completely surrounded by greenery and offer a temperature ranging from 28° to 40° degrees . These are complemented by a steam cave carved into the tuff, various paths aimed at vascular wellness, massages, beauty treatments, medical therapies, and the opportunity to relax on the beach under natural raffia umbrellas. In short, a true natural paradise located in the immediate vicinity of Villa Loreta.

Aragonese Castle

The Aragonese Castle is the symbol of the historical and cultural heritage of the island of Ischia: built in 474 B.C., it imposes itself after 25 centuries as an immobile witness of all the civilizations that have lived in this territory. Originally used as an island outpost, to this day the castle is a giant work of art that contains within it historical artifacts of immeasurable value. In addition, remember that since 1912 the castle has become privately owned, shaping up as one of the few Italian monuments capable of self-financing. This has enabled the fortress not only to be preserved in excellent condition, but also to become a prominent venue for the organization of various kinds of events and exhibitions.

La Mortella Gardens

La Mortella gardens came into being in 1958 following the move to the promontory of Zaro by Lady Susana Walton and Sir William Walton. Specifically, the couple moved to the location called Le Mortelle: a name derived from a typical myrtle bush that grows among the rocks in the area. It was here that Lady Walton designed and developed her garden, supported by noted English landscape architect Russel Page. To date, La Mortella gardens are considered among the most beautiful in Europe, a recognition also sealed by winning in 2014 the first prize for the ”most beautiful park in Italy” awarded to it by the American firm Briggs & Stratton.

Archaeological Museum of Pithecusae

The island’s Archaeological Museum is a must-see for fans of the history and civilization of the ancient world. On display inside are artifacts from all the peoples who inhabited the island, originally known as Pithecusae. The entire history of the area is jealously preserved within the rooms of the museum, which are arranged in such a way as to allow the tourist to embark on a temporal journey, taking him or her from Neolithic civilizations to the birth of the first Greek colonies. Among the museum’s most famous exhibits is the famous Nestor cup: an archaeological find that is an ancient example of alphabetic writing.
